Social expectations affect mental health by creating pressure to conform, which can lead to anxiety, depression, and lower self-esteem due to the stress of trying to meet unrealistic standards for success, appearance, and behavior.

This pressure can cause internal conflict, feelings of inadequacy, and a fear of judgment, especially when comparing oneself to others or suppressing one's authentic self.

Societal ideals for success, wealth, and appearance, amplified by social media, fuel a cycle of comparison that can lead to feelings of inadequacy, anxiety, and depression.
